Participate in Dementia Nomenclature Initiative Pilot Study to Improve Communication about Cognitive Impairment

[Duke Clinical Research Institute:]

We are writing to invite you to participate in a pilot study that provides an opportunity to help refine a Communications Framework for improving communication between clinicians, patients, and families regarding cognitive impairment. We are seeking dementia specialists and neurologists who screen and diagnose at least 25 adults with cognitive impairment per year.

If you qualify for the pilot study, you will receive $1,000 for completing a 60-90 minute one-on-one video interview.

This pilot study is sponsored by the Lewy Body Dementia Association and the Alzheimer’s Association. The study aims to refine a Communications Framework to support:

  • Clearer discussions with patients and families about cognitive impairment
  • Consistent communication across care teams
