Robert A. Yapundich, MD, FAAN, is a neurologist in practice since 1996 who primarily works with FryeCare Neurology in Hickory, NC, along with Novant Health Inpatient Stroke and Neurosciences in Winston-Salem, NC.
Dr. Yapundich earned his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine, and continued his postgraduate studies in neurology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he also completed a fellowship in electromyography/neuromuscular diseases. Dr. Yapundich is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, diplomat of the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and diplomat of The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with subspecialty certifications in Clinical Neurophysiology and Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Yapundich has served as past-president of the North Carolina Neurological Society and various other local and statewide committees. He has also served as a board member of the North Carolina Medical Society and state liaison for the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He has participated in clinical trials and has served as co-author on a variety of past publications. Current clinical interests include the areas of electrodiagnostic medicine and neuromuscular diseases, dementia, migraine, stroke, epilepsy, and sleep.
