Dr. Joel Morgenlander is professor of Neurology and Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University. Dr. Morgenlander’s primary activities are as a clinician educator. He provides general neurology consultations for outpatients and inpatients at Duke Hospital and runs the Duke Sports Neurology and Concussion Clinic. He is the fellowship director for the Duke Neurology APP Fellowship and runs a national organization of Neurology APP Fellowship Directors. As an educator, he has directed the Neurology clerkship and Neurology residency program at Duke. Dr. Morgenlander is the founder of the Consortium of Neurology Program Directors at the AAN. Dr. Morgenlander’s achievements have been honored locally through the Dr. Marvin Rozear Common Sense Award (3 times) and the Leonard Palumbo, Jr, M.D. Faculty Achievement Award. He has received the AAN 2024 A.B. Baker Award for Lifetime Achievement Award in Neurologic Education. He has worked with the North Carolina Neurological Society to expand opportunities for neurology residents and APPs, and expand participation and CME offerings for subspecialty neurologists.
