Dr. John Scagnelli is a board-certified neurologist specializing in Multiple Sclerosis and Adult Neurology at Raleigh Neurology Associates, where he leads the Raleigh Neurology Multiple Sclerosis Clinic—recognized as a Comprehensive Center of Excellence by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS). For the past 13 years, he has been dedicated to serving the neurological needs of patients across North Carolina.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Cornell University in 2002, followed by his medical degree from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine in 2006. He completed his Neurology Residency at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, and went on to pursue a fellowship in Multiple Sclerosis and related disorders at the University of Virginia.
Dr. Scagnelli is actively involved in neurological research and remains committed to advancing care for patients living with MS and other neurological disorders. He is a member of the North Carolina Medical Society, the American Academy of Neurology, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, which honored him with the MOVE Award for his outstanding contributions to MS care and advocacy.
Currently serving as President of the North Carolina Neurological Society, Dr. Scagnelli continues to be a passionate leader in the state’s neurological community, dedicated to improving care, education, and research across the region.
